VBI LEAD: Leadership Education And Development

Transforming Vietnamese Churches

The Engine of Transformation

The growth of the church in Vietnam has created an urgent crisis: the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. VBI LEAD exists to bridge this gap. We are the academic and training arm of the Vietnam Bible Institute, tasked with identifying, equipping, and empowering the next generation of indigenous leaders. Our mandate is drawn directly from 2 Timothy 2:2: “And the things that you have heard from me… commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Biblical Literacy

A leader must first be a student of the Word. We demand uncompromising faithfulness to the Scriptures and the ability to handle the Word of Truth correctly.

Spiritual Integrity

Competence without character is dangerous. We prioritize spiritual formation, mentoring students to model the humility and integrity of Christ.

Pastoral Practicality

Theology must be lived out. Our training focuses on the practical realities of shepherding a flock, resolving conflict, and leading a family.

Formal Training

SIBI BBS Degree

VBI LEAD as a partner school with SIBI is authorized to offer he Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree. This degree is the core training program at SIBI. Students study more than 40 courses equaling 120 college-level credit hours that cover the entire Bible. Students participate in a rich array of classes, from textual study to spiritual enrichment to ministry application. This training is rigorous, providing in just two years the same number of class hours that would require four or more years to complete at a typical college pace. Historically, training preachers has been the main focus of this core program. While training preachers is still central at SIBI, the bachelor’s degree has proven effective in preparing men and women for a wide variety of other ministry opportunities in the Kingdom.

How We Equip Leaders

Comprehensive theological education designed to equip the Head, Heart, and Hands of the Vietnamese minister.

Guided by Experience

Our faculty is comprised of experienced ministers, missionaries, and theologians who hold advanced degrees and possess years of field experience.

Continuing Education

Leadership learning never stops. Through the Vietnam Academy of Leadership Training (VALT), we conduct seminars and workshops for existing church elders, deacons, and key leaders, addressing contemporary issues facing the Vietnamese church.

More Than Just A Degree

At VBI, we distinguish between mere education and true training. Our academic philosophy is built on the belief that a servant leader must be competent in three areas:
Academic Rigor (Head): Developing the ability to interpret and teach the Scriptures accurately (2 Timothy 2:15).
Spiritual Formation (Heart): Cultivating a deep, transforming relationship with God.
Ministry Skills (Hands): Acquiring practical tools for evangelism, counseling, and church governance.
