WHO WE ARE (Our Story)

A Legacy of Faith and Thriving

Founded in 2014, the Vietnam Bible Institute (VBI) emerged from a deep desire to see the Church of Christ in Vietnam rooted firmly in the Scriptures. As the church in Vietnam grew, so did the urgent need for a systematic, deep, and biblically sound training program for its leaders.

Recognizing this need, VBI was established not merely as an academic institution, but as a spiritual training ground. Over the years, we have evolved from small training classes into a comprehensive institute offering Bachelor-level education through our partnership with the Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI). Today, VBI stands as a beacon of theological education, equipping men and women to serve as evangelists, teachers, and servant leaders across the nation.

We believe that the greatest resource of the church is its people. However, zeal without knowledge can lead to instability. That is why VBI is dedicated to combining ‘head’ (knowledge), ‘heart’ (spiritual passion), and ‘hands’ (practical skills) in our training.

Whether through our academic programs, our publishing ministry (VBI Press), or our field mission work, our goal remains the same: to present everyone fully mature in Christ (Colossians 1:28).

Our Mission

Vietnam Bible Institute exists to edify the Vietnamese Churches of Christ and enrich evangelism in local Churches. VBI produces effective evangelists, servant leaders, teachers, and preachers for Vietnam mission field.

VBI envisions that churches of Christ all over Vietnam will be effectively living out the story of God and His mission to their community as a result of our efforts to educate and nourish godly servant leaders in the knowledge of Christ for ministering to local church and community.

What We Believe

We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, burial, and resurrection.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, expressed in repentance and baptism for the remission of sins.
We are non-denominational and seek to be Christians only, restoring the pattern of the New Testament church.
